Animal Medical Center of Highland Village is always on top of my pets needs and alerts me to necessary procedures. It is usually easy to get an appointment and always met with a smile.

The vets themselves are fantastic, wonderful people. The new procedures that have been implemented however are ridiculous. From what I understand, this company was bought out by a corporation. It takes literally 5-10 phone calls to get a prescription filled now. They purposely decline Chewy orders multiple times to try to make it such a pain to order with them that you order straight from the vet, where the prices are approximately 6 times as expensive. They want you to come in for every little thing. You used to be able to call and ask general questions. They are also going to stop filling prescriptions with Chewy completely on March 1st, so you can only order through them where it is way more expensive. We have been going here for 9 years and it has slowly gotten worse over the last 6 months to a year. We will be switching vets.

We have 3 Chinese Shar-Pei and most vets in our area have limited experience with the breed. We are extremely happy with Dr. McCullough’s knowledge and interactions with our dogs. He’s made all visits easy and pleasant and fixed any issues we were having on the first try. Also, Dr. Strauch neutered our guy and it was the easiest, least painful technique I’ve ever seen in 33 years of dogs. Couldn’t be more pleased with the surgery and this was on our more standoffish Pei and Dr. Strauch made him feel comfortable and it was as smooth as possible. Couldn’t recommend these 2 docs more

We have been taking both of our dogs (Peter and Penelope) to see the docs at Animal Medical Center now for 3 years. They always are so helpful and provide good advice on what the cost and benefit of various options are. They don’t pressure you to go with the most expensive option if they don’t see a clear benefit. We have seen Dr Schoelkopf and Dr Strauch, and you can tell they really do care about your pet.

We have a new 3 month old puppy. We saw Dr Carnes who was very kind and caring. He had his 3 mo old immunizations and we got a free sample of a preventative medication . He was then able to go 2 days later and get his first bath and nail trim at a nearby doggy grooming place.
