This review is long overdue. Dr. Leshanski is our beloved vet whom we trust completely and have recommended to many friends. He has cared for our blind cat Tarta for almost seven years and we could not be happier with the results. She would hate to travel to a veterinary office and is distrustful of most people, but she loves Dr. Leshanki, who is always gentle with her. Now that we have recently added two kittens to our household, there is no question that Dr. Leshanski will remain our primary and most trusted vet. Emily answered our desperate call early on a Saturday morning and was so sweet, her sense of urgency and compassion was exactly what we needed. Dr. Leshanski made himself available on a moments notice on the hardest day we’ve ever had as dog pawrents. At Home Veterinary Services went above and beyond, we could not have asked for a sweeter and more loving team to help our Cuda chase squirrels across the rainbow bridge. Dr. Leshanski came to our home to help our very ill cat peacefully transition after being recommended by a neighbor. I recommend Dr. Leshanski and his office without reservation to anyone who finds themselves in this same sad position. He was empathetic, patient, and kind, and the cost of services was about the same as it would have been to take our cat to her normal vet -- but without the stress of a car ride and spending her final moments in a location that she has always associated with fear. We didn't want to have to call Dr. Leshanski, but given that we had to, he was the right call.

Dr. Leshanski and his wife Emily are outstanding people and are an asset to the pet-owning community in NYC. Dr. Leshanski is an incredible veterinarian, and his services are first-rate. He took care of our 2 cats and 1 dog over 5 years with the love and compassion that I had not seen in the money-mill experience of other vet clinics in NYC. He was available for urgent care needs and same-day appointments. He was upfront about the cost of services, which considering the level of service the cost was always 100% reasonable. I never had sticker shock. His compassion truly shined as my fur babies turned into seniors and they were able to age with dignity and comfort. As their times came, they spent their last moments cuddled with me in their home, and not terrified and a strange vet clinic. I will always appreciate the care he took of them, and me, during those difficult times.

The most compassionate vet I've ever encountered and a gem of a human being. I first met Dr. Leshanski around 2013 when I had to say goodbye to my sweet 17-year-old kitty Little and didn't want her to have to suffer through an emergency room visit. His kindness, wisdom and empathy made such an impact at an incredibly painful time. Since then, I've moved back to the Midwest but continue to consult with him remotely since I respect his opinion so much. He's seen me through the adoption and care of a senior rescue with kidney failure, the behavioral issues of a rambunctious kitten and other concerns that have arisen. Another thing I want to mention is that he often recommends natural solutions in addition to standard treatments, which is something I greatly appreciate. Thank you for all you do, Dr. Leshanski!

If you got to this review because you are looking for a dignified way to say farewell to your beloved pet, I know how hard this is. It is one of the most agonizing decisions. We had to say goodbye to our beautiful Dachshund Kala. We made the decision on a Friday evening and called for a Saturday appointment late in the evening. Emily took our call and was incredibly compassionate and arranged the appointment with Dr. Leshanski. Dr. Leshanski made the trip uptown on a Saturday afternoon (at no additional charge, unlike one other vet who seemed rather inconvenienced by the prospect of having to work on a weekend). He made the procedure as bearable as humanly possible.He was respectful, professional and compassionate and it was clear that he did everything he did to minimize the suffering and pain for both Kala and us. Thank you for being there for us.

Our (typically) sweet kitty, Vinny, believes that every vet visit is a life and death battle. Though it took two visits and a lot of gabapentin (and he still managed to rip through a towel) for Dr. Leshanski to simply clean and medicate his ears, Dr. Leshanski and his assistant endured the world’s worst patient to provide the care he needed. They also took their time to teach me how to brush our cats’ teeth while proposing additional solutions to help our fearful boy feel a little less terror. Honestly could not have asked for more, they went above and beyond and I’m so grateful for their compassion and care.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I can not thank Dr. Leshanski and Emily enough for making an extremely painful and sad experience in our lives easier on us. Their kindness can't be understated. On January 2nd of this year, the time had come to put our 12 year old Bengal, Luna, to sleep after a battle with cancer. The worst of it lasted less a day because the doctor made the extra effort to come to us on a holiday weekend. Watching the last few hours of her life was horrible, and all we wanted was to comfort her with our love and presence and make sure we could end her pain as quickly as possible. Honestly, Dr. Leshanski came to our rescue and we will always be eternally grateful.
