When my 1 year old pit bull, Scar was hit by a car in September I called my closest emergency vet about an hour from me and they told me they were unable to see him due to being too busy that night, I called BEVS and they told me they were very busy but bring him in and they would have someone immediately make sure he’s stable, once we got there after the 2 hr drive an employee came to my car and got him right out back, getting him help immediately. He had to stay 2 nights but every time I spoke to a vet I felt so certain and trusting in them, they were so kind and gentle but always very honest. When it was time for me to finally pick him up after a very extensive surgery, I could see the love and care they showed him, the vet who brought him out told me he had to make his rounds and say goodbye to everyone. I had to go in a few times after for a tube removal and a checkup, as soon as we walked in the door they greeted him with such love and he was always so happy to see them. This is the type of care I want my pet to revive. Our pets are our kids and these people will treat them that way.

I have a special thank you for one vet in particular who I don’t know the name of, she brought him to me when it was time to go home, she told me how much she enjoyed Scar and what an amazing dog he is, during his checkup she took time to sit on the floor and play with him in the waiting room. I felt such warmth knowing she had been taking care of my baby. I hope she is able to see this and know just how amazing she is at her work.

I see a lot of negative comments however we had an amazing experience. Yes there is a long wait time however they are the only emergency care for hours and like every business they are short staffed. Both our technician and veterinarian were amazing. So sweet, caring, and compassionate. We can't thank them enough for taking care of our Lucy Goosey!

We brought our beloved gremlin pup, Gertie, in for an ophthalmologist exam and the BEVS team was amazing. Gertie is extremely fearful and the entire staff were accommodating, kind, and knowledgeable about working with fearful dogs. Special shout out to the nurse, Jess, who we worked with. She pulled out all the fear-free practices she could to make Gertie as comfortable as possible. Having such a fearful dog is really hard at times, but the staff at BEVS made it so much easier to get our girl the care she needs.

Had an exceptional experience here. My dog Benny got into a few chicken wings late at night approx 9pm. Living in the Lake George, Ny region we have no emergency vet care. The other closest to us is about 1.5 hours. We decided to make the trip so at least if things went sour we would be close to a 24 hour vet facility. The receptionist was so kind and helpful and made sure we aware there wasn’t much they could do before making the trip. But assured us she understood if we came anyway to have the peace of mind. After a little over 2 hours traveling there we made it. The same receptionist who we spoke on the phone with stayed past her shift time to be the one to check us in. She was also intrigued by my dog’s mix and wanted to meet him before she left, which was so sweet. After only waiting about 10-15 minutes a vet tech (or Dr, not sure) came and met us in the lobby. She was so kind and explained they weren’t able to really do anything but gave us lots of advice to help Benny pass the bones without problems. She was extremely kind and empathetic to the fact we drove far and felt bad they couldn’t do more. But we were happy to make the drive just to have the reassurance and be close to a facility just in case. They also did not take us to an exam room or charge us. The way the staff treated us shows a HUGE level of compassion and you can tell they truly love and care for animals. I was shocked to not be charged anything. Unfortunately some different vet offices can be greedy and certainly would have done vitals and or blood work just to be able to give us a bill. BEVS was open, honest, and compassionate about not wanting us to have to pay for unnecessary care. Would make the drive anytime to go to this facility. Thank you so much!

My dog slipped on ice and lacerated the tarsus. The wound was deep enough to cut an artery. He was bleeding so much that I had to wrap a rag on his leg to stop the bleeding. I called BEVS before we arrived and we waited 2.5 hours before a doctor could see us. Then another 1.5 to get stitches. Did I mention that he cut an artery and was bleeding all over the place and it took 4 hours to get 3 stitches? To think that we were even triaged is a joke. His stitches popped out 5 days later so I brought him back in. We waited 3 hours to see a doctor then another 1.5 to fix him up. This was all to say that I am extremely disappointed in this place and would rather bring my precious pet somewhere else.

Was seen night for my 11 month old puppy who makes poor eating choices - he is a very nervous rescue who is uncomfortable with new people and settings and the team went above and beyond to try to make an exam comfortable to him! He ended up being fine and they were so gracious and didn't make us feel at all silly. It might not have been his favorite experience but they made it as tolerable as possible! Hoping he makes better decisions moving forward.

New years day my cat Summer was not eating well & couldn't seem to get comfortable. She was on antibiotics for a bladder infection. I was thinking appetite stimulant & nausea meds. Sadly she had some lung nodules & rib metastasis. It was devastating to hear but they were so kind & gave me as much time as I needed. I received a card today & they donated to the Hannah foundation in her name. I'm glad they were available & while it wasn't the outcome I wanted, I'm glad to know they're there if I need them again.

They may care for your pet but they have the worst customer service/ communication/ bed side manner I have experienced. Rude and rushed when they do talk to you, and it's not a collaborative conversation. Wholly money focused, which they say they have to be, but completely unlike any other veterinary care I have accessed in any of the other places I've been or states I've lived in. It just does not seem like they really care about serving pets or people. They are so lucky they are the only emergency option in town because they would be shuttered pretty damn quick if people had any other option.
