Dr Fitzgerald is exceptional. She goes above and beyond to ensure my macaw has the best care that I can afford. She is obviously an avian expert in her field and she handles parrots with patience and care. She is thorough in her examinations and explains everything so you understand and can make the best decisions for your beloved pet. Her staff is professional and friendly and it feels like they also genuinely care about my girl, Rainbow. She deserves the best care after her hard life, and I have no doubt that is what she gets there. It really is a relief.

Brought my bird to Colorado Exotic Animal Hospital for a behavioral consult, as I wanted him to see an avian veterinarian for his issues. The staff were all very compassionate and friendly, from the front desk to the techs to the vets! Everyone was incredibly professional and courteous, from check-in to check-out. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Ruoff and the entire team. I reached out after finding an abandoned, severely injured Sulcata tortoise baby and was met with an incredible amount of compassion, knowledge, and support. Dr. Ruoff offered expert guidance and a creative treatment plan that has given Misto a real shot at recovery. Her dedication to animal care is truly inspiring.

I also want to give a special shoutout to Ray and Scott at the front desk—both were incredibly kind and patient.

Ray answered my first (frantic) call, and was so empathetic and supportive. I knew absolutely nothing about tortoises going in, and they took the time to answer all my questions, explain things clearly, and set up expectations for moving forward.

This kind of empathy and care is rare. I left feeling not just hopeful for Misto, but also genuinely touched by the kindness of everyone involved. If you’re looking for a vet team that leads with heart and integrity, this is the place.

Everyone here is very nice and seems highly qualified and knowledgeable. I started bringing my rabbit here due to dental issues, and everyone there has been fabulous and very welcoming. The costs have been more manageable than other exotic vets in Denver. Extra thanks to Dr. Lykins for being such a great vet!
