We appreciate how kind, thorough, and attentive Dr. Memoli is in helping us worth through our dog’s separation anxiety. She was patient and let us ask as many questions as we had about our dog. We can tell she really loves our dog!

In addition to Dr. Memoli, the staff was great. They are prompt, kind, and so sweet with our dog. They make going to the vet such a positive experience for our dog.

Perfect vet for my corgi puppy!
-Facility is very clean and nice.
-Vet techs are very knowledgeable and great with my pup
-Multiple locations and super easy to get a same-day appointment
-All of the vets we've seen so far have been fantastic, especially Dr. Fontana. He has incredible bedside manner, is honest about what procedures are *actually* needed / doesn't just push for things to make $$ (which I've come across at other outside places), and great at listening/making me feel heard. As a (human) doctor I've come across plenty of patients who are overly concerned about generally minor issues, which is ironically how I get with my pup, but Dr. Fontana doesn't make me feel that way whatsoever. Being able to provide reassurance like this convincingly/ with knowledge and *not just waiving things off* is the hallmark of a great provider!

We are so grateful that we have Dr Tu in our lives! We have been taking our rescue pup Nova to her for years. Nova had a difficult start in life, she was neglected and abused before we adopted her. Initially she was just a tiny ball of fear and anxiety 24/7. Then she started aggressing in scary ways. Although she is tiny she was also ferocious and a danger to herself and others. We were hopeless until we started seeing Dr. Tu for behavior support. With her guidance and care Nova has gone from being terrified of my husband and not allowing him near her to being best friends and cuddle buddies. She has actually learned to rest and relax which was something we thought would never happen! Most importantly Dr. Tu has given us the support and guidance we needed to learn to follow Nova's cues so we can meet her needs.

Dr. Tu not only provides specialized care for Nova's behavioral needs but is also out vet for her general needs as well. Nova had serious GI issues initially including episodes of bloody diarrhea and vomiting that Dr. Tu resolved. Having a vet who knows how to handle a dog with behavior issues is crucial when dealing with a dog like Nova.

We firmly believe that had we not found Dr. Tu and had her incredible support and guidance that Nova's quality of life would have been absolute constant suffering. We are so grateful for her & the entire team at Heart of Chelsea for their kindness and compassionate care which we cannot recommend enough.

My cat poncho got lot of attention and care from the staff here when he was alive. Dr Fontana took special care and always tried his best to keep poncho in good health. I gave all medicines and restricted food but still poncho didn’t survive after so many efforts. Poncho will always remember the good medical attention that he got here when he was alive - specially attention from Dr Fontana and Dr Fitzmaurice. I miss poncho badly and I just wish there was some miracle medicine that could have solved all his heart issues once for good. He surely deserved to live longer but god had other plans for him.

Beware of Dr. Tu! Before I go into my review, I want to say that this is not a review of Heart of Chelsea Veterinary Group specifically and that I spoke in length with their Practice Director and she listened and was very compassionate and sincere about taking the feedback to enact change. The first video is of what my dog was EVERY DAY for the last 4 months under Dr. Tu’s care. The second video is from today, her bounding through Central Park.

My dog was under Dr. Tu's care for 9 months. After the initial consultation/diagnosis/medication regimen was given, I did notice a small improvement in my dog's overall quality of life. A few months into it though, my dog's overall condition declined considerably and she was refusing to go on walks and when she was home, she was hiding in her crate. Phone appts with Dr. Tu (which never lasted more than 8 minutes and cost $375) to discuss her care plan and make adjustments were like banging my head against the wall. Each month we'd have an appt and the only adjustments that were made were increasing the dosage of a single medication. Nothing else was changed. My dog was MISERABLE. I was miserable. She hid in her crate most of the day, was tormented by planes flying over head and she didn’t want to go on her walks anymore. And yet month after month for four months, the only adjustment Dr. Tu would make was increasing the dose of one of her drugs. My dog never improved after any of those adjustments, in fact she started declining again after a few months of that. It was infuriating and heartbreaking. Dr. Tu assured me that this was the process and oftentimes it takes 6-9 months to get it right.

Dr. Tu speaks very confidently and assuredly and I believed we would eventually get to a place where my dog was not hiding all of the time and could have some semblance of quality of life again. I regret deeply that I had my dog under her care for so long. When I finally realized there had to be other options available to me (you can use a virtual behaviorist that works alongside your regular vet and it's generally MUCH cheaper and I had a fantastic experience!) I realized how much I'd been gaslit by Dr. Tu for so long. I spent several thousands of dollars and all I have to show for it was a complete loss of quality of life for my dog for several months and a decrease in physical health bc she gained 10 pounds while she was refusing to walk.

Today, under the care of a new veterinary behaviorist, we have the correct diagnosis and right medications and my dog is FULL of energy and joy again! The new veterinary behaviorist listened to my feedback on how Scout was responding and made adjustments accordingly. Her goal was Scout’s quality of life and I can’t imagine she would ever let my dog suffer the way she suffered under Dr. Tu’s care. Scout never hides in her crate anymore and runs through Central Park every morning. It’s been a total 180 and it was almost immediate as soon as we started weaning my dog off the meds Dr. Tu prescribed.

"It's hard to say enough positive things about Dr. Andrea Tu, which is why we didn't hesitate to follow her to Heart of Chelsea. She is not only incredibly intelligent, compassionate, and thoughtful when developing individualized treatment plans, but she has always gone above and beyond for me (and all animals). It takes a very special person and doctor to specialize in treating animals with behavioral issues. While other vets might shy away from these "harder cases", Dr. Tu has always been their champion. She has worked with several of my pets at this point, and is currently treating my dog Lily. in 2015 we adopted a beagle named Charley who had spent the first 7 years of his life in a research laboratory. Prior to finding Dr. Tu, Charley's level of anxiety was often so extreme that it made him physically ill. As a dog mom, I felt helpless. However, after finding Dr. Tu, we were able to create a medical regimen that helped Charley more than I ever thought possible. She allowed us to provide Charley with many happy, comfortable years, and I will be forever grateful for this. She also treated our dog Lexi who had extreme anxiety about being handled (even ear cleanings and nail trimmings were an issue). She couldn't be treated at our normal vet because she became aggressive. I thank God that Dr. Tu was willing and able to work with Lexi. We came up with a treatment plan (a combination of medication and behavioral work) that allowed us to give Lexi the care she needed and also get to the root of her issues. On top of it all, Dr. Tu provided me --as an owner-- with ongoing compassion and reassurance as I navigated these issues. I could go on, but I am just so grateful to have someone like her in our corner. I wish every human and animal could have a Dr Tu in their lives!"
