I wanted to share my recent experience at this location where I took my cat to be neutered. Initially, everything seemed fine—they provided clear and organized aftercare instructions, and they even mentioned adding a complimentary nail trim, which I thought was a nice touch.

However, when I got home, I noticed they had cut one of my cat’s nails too short, to the point where they hit the vein, leaving dried blood visible. As someone who is very careful when trimming my cat’s nails because I love him dearly, this was extremely upsetting.

When I called to report the issue, the woman I spoke with brushed it off by saying, “accidents happen,” showing no empathy whatsoever. Her tone made it seem like she was annoyed with my concern. I asked to speak to a manager and was told the manager, Joanna, wasn’t available but that I could discuss it with her later. As I asked to request a call back from The manager, the employee abruptly hung up on me. To make matters worse, I never received a follow-up call from the manager.

This experience has been incredibly disappointing. I don’t feel this clinic values the well-being of its patients or the concerns of pet owners. Cutting my cat’s nail too short and dismissing it as an accident, without any empathy or accountability, is unacceptable. The lack of professionalism, from the handling of my cat to their response to my complaint, is appalling.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone—it feels like they only care about making money, not the animals or their owners.

Pricey in comparison to other places but honestly the best experience that I’ve had with a veterinarian office and I’ve had dogs my whole life. The quality of care is exceptionally high and in my opinion, well worth paying the difference in price compared to other local offices.

I have had wonderful care for my kitty cats from the Vets and Vet Techs at Heart of Chelsea LES. Dr. Chu is so kind and incredibly knowledgable. She did amazing work on a very complicated dental surgery for one of my girls and has been caring and compassionate as I navigate chronic kidney disease (CKD) with my other baby girl. The front desk staff are always pleasant, efficient and helpful. Finally, I can't say enough about the Vet Techs - especially Sydney, Skylar, and Orleny. Thank you all so much - I'm so grateful to have found you!

If I could, I would rate it 10 stars! I am very impressed the way Nashali took great care of my kitty, Gomez. You can absolutely tell she’s got patience and love for what she does. How could I not come back?! Thankful for the exceptional service! 🥰

Used to be better, before they were acquired. We think our doctor is great but the practice manager and staff lacks empathy and rather than acknowledge their many frustrating errors, does not know how to hold themselves accountable.

We used to recommend this practice - now suggest looking for a kinder administrative environment. We actually reached out to try to resolve the issue but instead, the practice manager flipped it around.

I took my dog to heart of Chelsea not that long ago and Nashali did an amazing job. I was scared my dog was going blind and Nashali looked at my puppy and was able to tell me she wasn’t that it was just a scar. But she was very sweet and gentle with my dog where a lot of other vets are very aggressive. This is my puppy Chelsea

Thank you Dr. Sara and team for saving Apollo. Apollo was choking on a stick and I called them at the same time they were closing. The team stayed and saved my dog from waiting at the ER. A few days ago I had the pleasure of enjoying the professionalism & hospitality of Heart of Chelsea located on the lower east side. From the moment I walked in the door the staff made me feel welcomed & being a 1st time cat father [Niala] & a 1st time vet visitor I didnt know what to expect. Nashaly (forgive me if I spelled your name wrong) her knowledge, her care & understanding of why I was there was beyond exceptional & cause of her, I would recommend anyone reading this to bring their loving pets to the loving hands of Heart of Chelsea
