Came in on a Sunday because my dog was having severe eye allergies. Dr. Gallagher and the vet tech Chelsea were INCREDIBLE! After a few test and a diagnoses, I walked out paying the same amount if not less than I would’ve at my own vet! Chelsea was incredible with my dog and even gave him a complementary nail trim! My second time visiting this emergency Vet and I think they’re awesome

As is always the case, our dog received excellent care at Heart of TX. We were in and out very quickly, and Dr. Seiple did not suggest excessive testing in order to diagnose our little boy's issue. The staff seemed excited to see our little pocket beagles, and even trimmed the nails of both of our dogs, even though one was only there for "moral support" of her brother. 🙂 We look forward to continuing to use this clinic for both emergency visits and specialty care in their new facility in the spring!

Review update:

Have you forgotten me?
You said you would seriously investigate and get back to me You leave a comment on my review as if you couldn’t contact me and then just quietly move on? Have you been managing comments with lies like this all this time?
Even on my review posted on yelp, you made false comments as if you couldn't contact me. Were you lying when you said you would contact me?
As you said, the only time my dog could stay alive was one or two hours. You said my dog won't make it because the organs have ruptured and fluid is leaking out. You said my dog will be in a lot of pain. Do you sell huge amounts of medicine (most of the medicine was for my dog to take the day after, when she only had 2 hours to live) and food for the dog that can’t eat or digest them and then try to pass it off as such things that never happened?

It would have been okay... If I could have spent the last moment of my dog's life and sent her off with warm hands... I could have understood everything... But your care was the worst...

Do you know why guardians of sick pets come to your hospital holding their pets? Even if you are going to charge a lot of money, since they are desperate to save their pet, they are prepared to pay.
You are taking advantage of their earnest heart to satisfy your greed by selling drugs that are absurd and even to pets that have no hope for survival.

Nurse, a woman who rubbed the buttocks of a dying dog with her rough hand with no care... Are you still working there?

I cannot or I will not forgive you for selling your smallest conscience for greed and despicable care you have provided to my dog at her last moment. No, I firmly believe that God will not forgive.

On 10/19/24, I woke up to my chihuahua giving birth. Unfortunately, the first puppy did not make it and my dog was not able to push out her remaining 3 babies. I went to the first emergency vet clinic and it was way out of budget for the c section and I had to drive another 40 minutes to get there. I proceeded to find other nearby locations, but none of them were equipped to conduct the surgery. I called Heart of Texas Veterinary Clinic and sent them the x rays I received from the first one. Luckily they were across the street! The moment I arrived, I was greeted by the receptionist and they were so thorough and caring for my baby girl. They got me in the room immediately and the tech and doctor came in within a few minutes to run some test on my dog. They explained everything so well and told me they had high hopes for her. Well, she came back with the rest of her puppies, instructions on how to care for her, a refund because I overpaid, and answered all of my follow up questions, even my dumb ones. I just wanted to say how grateful I am to Heart of Texas Veterinary Clinic for providing me peace and a high level of service. Thank you so much Dr. Edwards for taking great care of my baby and treating me with the utmost respect. I’ve never felt so calm in an emergency surgery and it’s all thanks to you and your team. I hope this review gets to you and I’m going to recommend everyone I know to your clinic. This will be posted on all of my social media. Words cannot explain how relieved and thankful I am for all of you. I know I can trust your team and will be going to you guys from here on out. Thank you again and God bless you all!

Exceptionally caring and compassionate.
I took my little chihuahua in a very critical condition, they immediately stabilized her. The nurse and doctor were very honest and informed me of everything that could happen with my dog. She was suffering so I decided to euthanize her. The staff was very supportive, genuinely compassionate, and caring. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to bring her. I’m so grateful for them.

When my dog Rocky's primary vet put a referral in with Heart of Texas it was done so seeking answers to what was causing his sudden loss of weight and increased liver enzymes. Unfortunately due to appointments being filled already his appointment wasn't scheduled until mid September. The time of his referral was placed in July and I had just lost my oldest dog Luna in June. So to say my nerves were shot would be an understatement. I scheduled Rocky's appointment with the reassurance that if anything opened up before his appointment I would get a call.

Sadly with time passing Rocky's symptoms worsened and he was losing weight quicker. During this time the staff at Heart of Texas continued to check in and try to find a time Rocky could come in eariler. After a bad experience at another specialty vet Heart of Texas was able to move some appointments around to get him seen much sooner due to his worsening symptoms.

After his first appointment with the doctor I was given the heartbreaking news it was cancer. After just losing Luna I felt the room was spining with the news and my world was crashing. The doctor and staff were kind and understanding as I grasped to understand their words and accept this was happening to my once very happy boy.

We started chemo to give my boy a fighting chance, for more time, for more snuggles and "I love you Rocky". To our dismay the medication was hard on him causing other issues for him. Rocky was coming to the end of his battle that up until a month and half prior I didn't know he was having. Myself, my husband and my mother cried on the floor holding Rocky as the doctor sweetly but bluntly told us our options but that in the end Rocky had a few days left.

We took him home.

Without the staff at Heart of Texas checking in and making so many accommodations I think my sweet boy would have passed sooner and us without any knowledge of what was taking our boy away.

They never got to see my handsome boy as he was, so attached is a few pictures of my Rock Rock as he was all the time. Happy and loving life.

Thank you for caring for my dog for the brief time you did as his primary vet always did.

We’ve been so grateful for the incredible care Dr. Sara Bordelon has provided to our sweet Little Bit over the years. She was always so kind and attentive during Little Bit’s heart checkups, treating her like her own.

This weekend was especially difficult as Little Bit faced a severe health episode, and our sweet girl went to heaven. While we had to go to an emergency vet in Los Angeles, we were reminded of how much we’ve always trusted and appreciated the exceptional care and compassion from Dr. Bordelon. Our last visit with her was on December 30th, 2024, and as always, she went above and beyond for Little Bit.

A special thank you to Martha at the front desk and Carolyn for being so great in helping accommodate scheduling and making everything seamless.
