Fui para que vieran a mi pajarito recién nacido que tenía una patica muy abierta y como no fuí con cita previa, entonces se tomaba como una emergencia donde me iban a cobrar mas de $300.00 solo por la consulta y sin medicina. Esto es demasiado costoso. Quisiera saber porqué cobran todo eso.

I had an amazing experience here today! I brought my budgies in for a nail trimming, and the entire visit was fantastic. The staff was super friendly, fun, and incredibly helpful, making both me and my birds feel at ease. The doctor was so nice and gentle with my little ones, ensuring they were comfortable throughout the entire procedure. I was also really impressed with how much knowledge the doctor shared with me about my birds' care. I left with tons of useful tips on how to properly take care of them. The whole appointment was quick, easy, and stress-free. I'll definitely be returning for all my future bird care needs!

I had an amazing experience at this place for my hamster’s visit! The entire staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to thoroughly explain everything and made sure my princess hamster daughter was comfortable. I truly felt like my girl was in the best hands. Dr Sands was very knowledgeable and professional. She almost instantly developed a diagnosis based on what appeared to be a high level of experience in dealing with exotic birds.
The whole staff was kind and caring from Karen reception to all the nurses who collected initial information and gave us post visit instructions before we left .
Appointment was prompt and on time and they did their best to give us a time frame that worked for us.
This will be our place to go from here on for our family pets.

I decided to take my rabbit here because they had sooner availability than the exotic vet closer to me. I am so glad I did because I will only be taking her here from now on.

The vet and the two nurses I interacted with were incredibly patient and thorough. They took the time to listen, respond, and validate all my concerns and questions. I feel better equipped to handle her stasis and confident in their ability to treat her if the situation calls for it. To all Manhattan bunny owners, it’s definitely worth the trip!

I cannot thank Long Island Birds and Exotics enough. As someone who works in the vet field, I immediately can recognize a trustworthy practice that’s filled with genuine compassion. When I lost my rabbit, they were with me every step of the way and even arranged for her ashes to be sent directly to me in Brooklyn. It took me a while to write a review, but I’m also very thankful for whomever drew my rabbits portait that they sent along with my sympathy card. Thank you Dr. Lee for also seeing not only my rabbit but my parakeet who was terrified of the vets and being very compassionate and patient with her. I plan on bringing the rest of my parakeet flock in to see her in the future! Highly recommend. 🙂

I am an experienced bird owner of canaries, and I always prepare myself for the visit in the same way as I was going to any other appointment. My advice is to have your technical questions ready (write them down to save time), bring in photos or videos if you can document your pet's symptoms, and have all the info ready so that when you meet with the Dr you can analyze the data and choose the next step. My experience with the office and Dr. Nicole Sands was exceptional. From the first steps of my engagement with the office, I was able to receive clear, direct, and informative answers to all the questions asked. I was given the opportunity and the ability to choose together with the Dr the right treatment plan for my bird, and we were able to reverse symptoms and accomplish a positive outcome. I brought one of my parrots here for the first time yesterday and had an overall very positive experience. Immediately I got the feeling that the staff all genuinely loves animals and no one I interacted with seemed to just be there for the paycheck. I brought my parrot in to get his nails trimmed and sadly—but fortunately—they discovered a tumor while he was there. The vet explained everything she suggested they do in terms of diagnostics, but it never came off like she was just trying to sell me on unnecessary tests. She and the receptionist were both very upfront and clear about what the costs would be and did not try to hide the ball there in any way which I appreciated. The only negative was that the wait for the vet to come in was pretty long, but once she did, she was very efficient in completing everything that needed to be done and because I felt like she and the rest of the staff had my parrot’s best interests at heart I don’t feel the need to take off any stars for that.
