After my dear, longtime vet passed away and several disastrous visits to BondVet left me frustrated, anxious, and honestly a little traumatized, I wasn’t sure where to turn. In a city full of clinics, finding a vet who is skilled, compassionate, and actually reachable can feel like chasing a mythical trifecta. But then I found Oliver’s Dog and Cat Clinic in East Harlem, and that impossible balance suddenly felt refreshingly real.

I brought in my cat, JoJo, for a neutering procedure—at age three. I knew it should’ve happened earlier, but after my experience with BondVet, I’d been hesitant and nervous to trust again. Dr. Coronato didn’t judge, didn’t lecture, and didn’t make me feel bad. She was kind, understanding, and fully focused on making sure JoJo was safe and cared for.

She’s chill, funny, and genuinely excellent at what she does. She explained everything clearly, handled JoJo with gentleness, and made what could’ve been a stressful situation feel easy. After the surgery, she personally called to check in on JoJo, and when I had a question the next day, she picked up the phone herself. That kind of follow-through is rare—especially in NYC.

Even though Oliver’s Dog and Cat Clinic is a small practice, it’s impressively well-equipped. They offer in-house diagnostics, laser surgery, dental care, X-rays, vaccinations, senior care, pain management, and more. It’s the best of both worlds: the capabilities of a big clinic, with the heart and attention of a small, neighborhood practice.

Big love also to her assistant, who clearly has a natural way with animals—JoJo was completely at ease.

If you’re looking for a trustworthy, non-judgmental vet in East Harlem or anywhere in NYC, look no further. I finally feel like I have a vet I can rely on again—and JoJo agrees.

Victoria is amazing. Very knowledgeable, kind and attentive. I feel so grateful I found this practice. Most of my cats are patients and are treated with care throughout all their services of spaying, neutering, pedicures, check ups, etc. Fernando is also great at calming the kitties.
