Unique family owned store carrying anything from cat food to horse feed. Prices are really reasonable for a small business and you can’t get the size of the bulk items they have anywhere we know of without paying a fortune tax in shipping. We have chickens and get great organic delayed feed here in 50lbs bags for a great price.

The kids also love it here because they have great small animals to see from fish to rabbits to lizards. Overall it’s a great store worth checking out.

Just getting into chickens. Very knowledgeable and I learned from going in. I have bought aquarium fish years ago and good prices and variety.
As far as chickens they explained the breeds coming in and how the are vaccinated there but large box store doesn't provide that.

Excellent place! We went for the dog wash. I was expecting one or two little stations, not these insanely well prepped multi amenity stations. They provide it all, shampoo, towels, dryer, aprons, brushes. For $10, absolutely worth it and make sure to sign up for rewards, (10 bath is free). The rest of the store is filled to the brim with animal supplies, the dog section has everything.

We picked up everything that we needed for my daughter's fish tank at Pickering Valley. The staff were very knowledgeable and super helpful, as always.

We have been coming to Pickering Valley ever since we moved to the area ~10 years ago for cat supplies, bird seed and garden stuff. Great shop.

Still a great shop! I just adopted a pair of kittens and Pickering Valley had everything that I needed!

The staff at this store make the experience; especially in the animal room! Kim, Jen, Joe and Evan are so knowledgeable, helpful and keep the room so perfect, it's a joy to shop there! I used to use big box stores for small animals/supplies but the staff at Pickering has changed my shopping habits!

Customer service is not nice and not good. I called them to verify if they have certain item, was placed on hold and then told that they have several types. I drove to the store only to find out that they do not have it at all. Waited several minutes for the owner, who said sorry we do not have it. She did not care who gave me the misinformation, she did not care that I wasted part of my day to drive there and had to pay for the gas. Just be aware about that.

Just had to buy a guinea pig cage here. The woman came out with her blue hair and proceeded to tell me that my guinea pigs weren't normal if they didn't want the 4 ft cage. I told her they had a 4 ft cage now and I needed a smaller one. I explained that when I moved them to their 4 ft cage they seemed afraid of all the space and hid in their guinea barn. She proceeded to tell me she wouldn't sell me anything smaller than the 3 ft cage and her dad was a vet and she knew something was wrong with how I raised my guinea pigs if they didn't want to be in a bigger enclosure and were small in stature. For me, customer service is providing the item the customer wants not guinea pig shaming them and refusing sale of any item they didn't approve. She was obnoxious and really shouldn't be in customer service. I won't be back to this business. Meanwhile the cashier was very nice. I felt sorry for her working with such a horrible salesperson . I'm sure many people walk out disgusted rather than give the business to someone who hires such an unpleasant person.

Great spot. Tons of stuff for all sorts of animals. Nice place to buy fish too. Staff are nice and pretty knowledgeable. During the warmer months they have a bunch of different indoors and outdoors plants and pond stuff too.
