My only experience with this business is the daily Doggy Day Care for the past three months. I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff in the morning and most importantly my dog LOVES to go. Her tails starts wagging as soon as we start pulling up and she excitedly says "hello" to everyone in the morning. I honestly have not had one issue in the past few months.

Why the one star? I received a phone call on Friday that my pet was coughing up a lot of blood but the vet wasn't in to check on her. Of course, I was really concerned. When I went to pick her up, the dogs were outside in the play area and I walked around to see how she was reacting (lethargic, ect). When I came into the office to check her out, I was told not to go around to the gate because it causes the dogs to fight. Given the situation, I stated I should be allowed to check on my dog. No dogs were fighting and all tails were wagging. The staffer was rude but was professional enough to tell me to have a good day. I maintained my diplomacy but told her to have the day she deserved. I left it at that - we all have bad days.

Drop off and pick up was normal on Monday. Tuesday drop off was fine as well. I received a call from the Owner a couple of hours later after drop-off, I thought it was another incident of coughing up blood or to check up on her, but it was to tell me my dog was being aggressive and that along with my "outburst" on Friday were we no longer welcome and they would return my money. Since my dog has never been aggressive in the three months there nor does she show aggressiveness at the dog park, I figured this boiled down to me looking at my dog through the chain link fence. As a business owner myself, I asked her if she would like to hear my side of the side and she bluntly told me no. While I can respect an owner for taking up for her employees, the fact that I never raised my voice to anyone on Friday, there hasn't been any non-compliance of the rules except me checking on my dog by the fence on Friday, and the owners absolute refusal to hear the clients side of the story led me to this review.

As the owner she of course has to right to refuse service. I would have preferred she called to hear my side of the story and remind me of whatever policy they have and why. It was the absolute dismissal to hear my side of the story and the fact that I was checking on my dog after they called to tell me she was coughing up blood (again I was outside a chain-link fence). She didn't even ask if my pet was still having the issue -- That is bothersome. Make your choice wisely.

Edited to add: Ladies and Gentlemen, please see the owners response when you make your decision. Apparently name calling is something that comes with an honest review or any opinion. Today was my FIRST interaction with the owner.Today was also the only time anything has ever been said negatively about my dog. One of the staff even told me my dog was their favorite. Granted she is an animal and something may have happened but it was a first heard today. As for me not picking up my dog, I asked the staff if I needed to pick her up. They said no, we just wanted to let you know. I called my vet and received a way forward and things to look for since she is in treatment for a non-contagious medical condition. At the time being in a kennel was best until I could get her home and monitor her.
Please read all the reviews before you make a decision. This might be the perfect place for you. Again I have had nothing but positive things to say until the owner treated me the way she did. The business is in my rear view mirror, as we will gladly go back to our previous day care, I only changed because it was closer. Toodaloo!

We’ve been taking our fur babies to Dr. Amy at River Region for many years, and I can’t imagine trusting anyone else with their care. Dr. Amy was Ollie's doctor his entire life, and when we had to say goodbye to him in 2022, she and her staff were incredibly compassionate and supportive during one of the hardest moments in my life. She was there with us when he took his last breath, and I’ll never forget the kindness and love she showed.

It took me a year to find another "man's best friend," but there was no question who his doctor would be. Now, she’s taking care of Sully, and I’m just as confident in her care for him as I was for Ollie. Dr. Amy treats every fur baby like they’re her own, and it’s clear how much she genuinely loves what she does. Our little buddies (see pics) are part of our family, and knowing they’re in her hands gives me such peace of mind.

Thank you, Dr. Amy, and everyone at River Region Vet Clinic, for being such a special part of our lives. You’re truly amazing!

I took my dog, Gretchen, for her annual checkup. Everyone was very friendly. Dr. Meyers even let me play with her own dachshund puppy as I was waiting on my little doxie. Dr. Meyers checked my dog over and gave her her shots and came out afterwards me to discuss her findings. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

I have been a client of River Region for over 12 years. Dr Amy Meyer has taken care of my pet during this time frame and I will continue to use River Region for my new dog. Dr Meyer is great with all her patients. Her staff treats all the animals as if they were their own.

Dr Amy and her staff are amazing! This is my second time living in the Prattville area and both times with multiple visits it was always a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend these guys to anyone, especially military members moving to the area!

I brought my Dog here 3 different times and spent over 200 dollars only to be in the same place I started when i originally brought him in. I brought him in the first time because he was shaking his head repeatedly, they gave him a 14 day ear drop treatment and told me that he had a small amount of bacteria in his ears. After the 14 day treatment... he started shaking his head just as much as he did in the beginning. So I brought him in for another visit. They brought him into the back then came back out with him and said... "yep everything looks good! We aren't sure why he is still shaking his head but just give him the original ear drops we gave you once a week and see what that does for him." I said okay (kinda confused) but still willing to try it.

After several days and continuing the ear drop treatment... his shaking only got worse. So I called them again and asked if I could bring him back in to fix the original problem. They said "Sure bring him in." and set up an appointment. This time was the 3rd time I was bringing him in for the same issues that we started with. When we arrived for the 3rd visit... they brought him into the back and shortly there after brought him back out and told me that he looked great and that they still had no idea why he was shaking his ears, except this time they gave him a steroid shot without my permission and charged me 40 dollars for it but yet had no idea why he was still shaking his head. 🤔

This comment is being made about 5 days after that last visit and his ears literally have crap all in them. Not sure what it is exactly but I can promise you he will not be going back to this vet. If you value your hard earned money, time and pets... I strongly suggest going to a different clinic because this one was not capable of fixing the problem but yet had no issues with charging me multiple times and giving shots without my permission.

Just came from River Regions vet and, as always, Amy and her team are fantastic. I drive all the way from Montgomery to use them, and I wouldn’t change for anything! My two cats get the best care with them, and the girls love Amy and her team! If Gracie and Morgie love them, then I love them! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
