I have Been taking my boxer Vader here since may to get chemo for his lymphoma. He is my absolute best friend and I feel so lucky to have found Dr Fernandez and her techs. They have been so kind compassionate and informative. As an icu nurse I can be very particular about who I trust with my dogs but I felt so comfortable from the start with everyone here. Vader is literally my shadow and hates to leave my side but they have been just so gentle and sweet and I cannot thank them enough for everything because this is such a hard thing to go through and they have just been the best.

My pup, Rocky, had an emergency after hours and I was able to bring him in right away. Everyone from the receptionist to the doctor the the discharge tech, were supportive, made sure I understood what was happening, offered me solutions, and went over post visit follow up care thoroughly.

I expected to pay an arm and a leg but not only do I think their pricing was reasonable for an emergency situation, they also gave me a refund on the deposit placed. It’s refreshing to see a practice not price gouge their customers. Thank every one of you for taking such god care of my Rocky!

This pet hospital/ER couldn’t be any better. Every person who I worked with, spewed nothing but compassion and love towards me and my animals. Their recommendations and willingness to help was greatly appreciated. Their patience with me and my emotional antics during the hardest moment of my life, could be defined as nothing less than genuine love and empathy, and I will never forget the power of compassion and the strength I derived from their kindness.

Not much else can top the grief that comes with losing a fur baby and they couldn’t have done a better job at assisting me with managing my pain and sadness.

Every person working there is an angel, and I will forever appreciate their help, support, and guidance. I know that, because of them, I made the right decision. Thank you all very much. I know my dog Homie is in a better place, and although the pain of losing him will never go away completely, the help, care and trust received from the people here left me no room to second guess or regret my decision.

I came here Dec 26th because my newly adopted kitten was running a slight fever, so I wanted to have him checked as a precaution. From the moment I walked in they treated me and my Lil Newton with kindness. I was immediately helped and did not have to wait long in the waiting area. As I was waiting several employees assured me it would only be a few min. It was only a few min and they took Newton back to examine him. After that the Dr came in and explained everything to me and gave me a few options because he still young and he told me what would be better and the better option with pricing and he didn't want me to waste money and still not be able to find anything with the testing. So I chose the latter of giving him fluids. Newton has felt much better ever since and I cannot think this team enough. Thank you all for treating me and my fur baby Newton with the utmost care!

I have been using Tampa Bay Vet Specialists over the years for various ailments: my dog had BOTH ccl’s replaced by Dr Oakes- she is 13 now and we are still walking 2 miles a day!!

My pup also had some moles removed and one was mast cell cancer- Dr Fernandez was amazing, and Dr Oakes removed the cancer flawlessly.

These vets are great, caring and my sweet dog is thriving because of them!

My senior beagle was bitten on her ear by a rattlesnake the day before Hurricane Milton was set to arrive. I found her on my patio almost comatose, covered in drool and diarrhea. She had been inside the fenced backyard for no more than 30 minutes while I was prepping for the hurricane. TAMPA Bay Veterinary Specialists saved her life. Even though they were going to have to close their office later that evening, they were able to administer antivenin and stabilize her so she could be transferred to a critical care vet that had backup generators. This is the 2nd time this practice has saved my dogs' life and I am eternally indebted to them. They are very knowledgeable, kind, caring, accommodating, and were very good at keeping me informed. I highly recommend them.

I went in today because my
Dog had back to back seizures for the first time ever. I called and they told me to come right in and they would be waiting for me. The moment I walked in, they immediately took her back. We felt seen and heard and taken care of. The staff and nurse and Dr. were incredible. I really have no words. The Dr took the time to sit and talk and explain everything to me for at least 20 minutes.
He helped me with the options we had and plan going forward.
I cannot say enough about the care we both received today.

I had the good fortune of having no other patients being treated at the time I arrived at 10:00 on a Sunday night. The receptionist, nurse (or vet tech) and doctor were all friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. And, everyone took time to explain what was going to happen to my cat, what did happen, and take-home continuing care information. Very professional place. I will go there again if I have an after-hours emergency.
