We have brought our 7 year old German shepherd here his whole life and they were great the first few years but the last 2-3 years we have brought him in multiple times for giant hot spots and him just being completely miserable because of them and none of the doctors cared at all. We saw multiple different doctors and each one had zero concern and sent us on our way home. They each gave us a different answer that didn’t solve the problem and charges us hundreds of dollars each visit so we did what we could at home with what they told us and none of it worked so he has been completely miserable the past few years and we have felt hopeless not being able to help him and we came in tonight and saw a new Dr., Kyle Reijm who actually cared and felt terrible for Diesel and identified right away just by looking at his sores that he had an autoimmune disease and his body was attacking itself all this time, for YEARS and none of the other vets had the knowledge or care to tell us that. We will never ever bring him back here. You completely failed him for years and left him miserable. We should’ve been able to trust that the doctors here knew what they were talking about or cared at all when we brought him in multiple times and you failed us every single time. Do not bring your pets here, most of the doctors do not care or do not have the knowledge to help.

Dr. Gutting has been my primary veterinarian for my animals since 2019. Along with Dr. Reijm, both gentlemen have been nothing short of incredible in taking care of our many pets. I ended up recommending them both to my parents and they were instrumental in the treatment, care and prolonging of the life of my parents favorite cat. They are both very knowledgeable, thoughtful and kind. Highly recommend them both!

Not happy with the policy of the care club. Tried to cancel after almost a year and was told I would end up paying twice the amount left owed. Didn’t hardly even use the care club and the one time we did when our dog had an allergic reaction to soap we paid an additional 400 out of pocket for the visit. What a rip off. The level of care was alright not overly impressed with some of the providers.

Very happy with Dr Reijm and the other staff.
Dr Reijm found a hear murmmer previously in diagnosed by at least 2 other clinics. The staff have all been super supportive and genuine in the care for my senior cat.
Everyone at the clinic are super kind and helpful.

When my Golden Retriever, Maxey Poo, was sick a couple years ago, they got him in right way. He had a bleeding mass on his spleen, and either needed an emergency surgery or to be euthanized. They did surgery right away. They took out his spleen, and recovered him over night at a neighboring hospital. Here he is 2 years later, at the young age of 15 years old! Still thriving! He's my best friend, and I'm so very grateful for these extra years I've had with him because of the care he received at VCA! I can't be more grateful.

We had a couple of pretty poor experiences. One was our cat had an issue where she was getting lethargic...shutting down. This happened to her once before almost the same exact experience: the first time we did a lot of tests, and it turned out it was an easy antibiotic fix but hard to diagnosis something to do with the digestive tract. We told the vet this the second time it happened right when we went in, so you think the first thing they would do is this easy antibiotic trial, but no they did the 5 billion tests charging us an arm and a leg until we demanded the antibiotic (which we had to get angry about because they were talking about exploratory surgery), and low and behold; she was cured. . .Another time was an issue with our dog. She had a really bad nasal issue, constant dryness, cracking to the point it would bleed a little, peeling, running...we did some ointment on our own, but she'd just lick it right off if; we sat with her and made it stay on for 10 minutes or so two to three times a day (not fun mind you), it'd improve a little but come back, so we took her in after a few months of it not going away. They gave her a short antibiotic and when that didn't work they pretty much said that's all they could do. It's been over a year; we keep trying ointments, and it just isn't going away. We took her into a vet in Athol since none of the vets in post falls would do anything about it. They suggested a biopsy of the nose, and we found out exactly what she has which is an autoimmune disorder (Discoid lupus erythematosus), and we are set up to get her on a longer/stronger dose of antibiotics meant to treat this particular disorder and another drug, a medicated ointment, and sunscreen to apply if she's outside. I will never take my animals to this vet again. Why did they not suggest a biopsy? Why did they not listen to us about our cat? or look at her record if you don't want to believe me. . .why make our animals suffer needlessly? I gave the vet 2 stars because they will get you in, in case of emergency and a lot of other vets won't even do that.

We are new to the area and unfortunately our almost 14 year old pug was coming to the end of his life. Dr. Williams took Champ in and treated him with love and respect in his final hours of life. The staff at the animal hospital were all amazing and treated us with respect and kindness. An amazing experience for such a sad time in our lives. We will definitely be bringing future pets to Dr. Williams and the Kootenai Animal Hospital Team.
