Nancy and the team at veterinarian referral & emergency center of Westbury were beyond outstanding in helping with the injured bird, a Robin, that was on our front porch this weekend! After walking me through the best way to bring it to them unharmed, they took it to a rehabilitation center and made sure it was healthy and then released it. It was a great experience for our family to see an injured animal helped back to its natural environment. Thank you Nancy and the Dr.'s and Team at Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury!

When my precious cat Marceline started breathing fast and labored, I was absolutely terrified. When referred to this hospital, Dr. Kimmel took over her care and kept me in the loop. She made me feel so at ease in an extremely stressful situation, and sent my baby home breathing easier, with medication to keep her on the right track. I can’t thank the team enough!!

If i could give them more then 5 stars, i would! When my poor senior dog was fighting for her life after being attacked by another dog, Dr Hampton saved her!!! She took her under her care like it was her own. I couldn't thank her enough. She was so kind , understanding, always had a smile on and made sure i was OK with everything she was doing to my Bella along the way. The hospital is immaculately clean and the staff is so understanding and friendly. I highly recommend!!!!

We took our dog Reggie to see Dr. Kimmel after our vet referred us. We were very pleased with the receptionists, vet technicians, and Dr. Kimmel. All of the staff treated us well and were kind to us. Everything was explained to us in detail and surgery/unnecessary treatments/diagnostics were not pushed on us. Dr. Kimmel was amazing and explained everything to us an thoroughly. Dr. Kimmel listened to my wife and I and made a treatment plan that met our needs.

I was shocked to see all of the bad reviews on Google. I could not recommend Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury enough. We had a previously surgery performed on Reggie at "Animal Surgical Center" in Oceanside and we had a horrible experience. I felt that the "Animal Surgical Center" tried to hide costs/hide what was being performed on Reggie and the staff there was horrible. It is night and day difference between "Animal Surgical Center" and "Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury". I see a lot of comments how "Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury" only cares about money and that is far from my experience. There was nothing out of line with what I would expect the charges to cost in comparison to the "Animal Surgical Center" in Oceanside. The "Animal Surgical Center" in Oceanside seemed like an absolute cash grab in comparison to the "Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury".

Thanks to Dr. Kartsonas, my baby Milano is back to normal. Milano swallowed a large bone which took him out for
almost a whole week. He couldn’t keep and food down and his energy levels plummeted. I was getting the run around from a lot of places to get Milano’s endoscopy done. A lot of places that I called, which were mostly emergency rooms, were telling me they didn’t have the tools to do the endoscopy or that the internal medicine teams weren’t available. One location even told me they’d potentially euthanize him if things got worse. Finally I found VCA and everyone from the receptionists to the veterinary staff were wonderful. Everything that was going on with Milano was explained to me in a digestible way. Dr. Kartsonas suggested the simple endoscopy that I’d been trying so hard to have done for Milano for days. I also paid a reasonable price for every single they did with Milano in their care. The very next day after the procedure, Milano was significantly improving. I’m so glad to have Milano back. I recommend this place to anyone with a furry friend. 🙂

Dr. Linderman at the Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center of Westbury has been an incredible source of support and care during our dog’s treatment journey. From the very first visit, his patience, kindness, and deep understanding have made an otherwise difficult process so much easier to navigate.

He takes the time to explain every step of the treatment and monitoring process in a way that’s clear and reassuring. No question feels too small or unimportant, and his genuine compassion for both his patients and their families shines through in every interaction.

Our dog has been in the best hands with Dr. Linderman. His expertise in oncology, combined with his thoughtful and caring approach, has given us so much peace of mind during this challenging time. It’s clear he truly cares about the well-being of his patients, and we are incredibly grateful for his guidance and dedication.

If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and compassionate oncology vet, Dr. Linderman is truly exceptional. We can’t recommend him enough.

We went to see Dr. Mark Levy for a consolation of surgery for my cane Corso who had a bad leg. This doctor was arrogant and uncompassionate and incapable of even examining my dog. He informed us that he was unable to examine her Which is absurd because we go every week to different vets and every other vet is able to examine our dog. He put a quote together of $16,000 to have a leg amputation on my dog without examining my dog. I called a few hours later and asked to speak to the manager and told her you charged me for the exam and he didn’t examine my dog cause he claims he couldn’t examine my dog and I was charged over $400 for that appointment. I asked the manager to please reimburse me for that examination that never took place .I never received a call back she said she was gonna call me back. DONT go and see Dr. Mark Levy he was incapable of even an exam.. I feel terrible for my dog that I even put my dog through an attempt of an exam because he treated my dog unkindly. My dog is a pussycat and was able to take an exam with many vets when treated properly and right.
