Recently my wife and I faced the inevitable of having to put our 1st family puppy down. It was a VERY hard thing to do as not only were we losing a family member but also a time capsule full of memories and a puppy our children have all grown up with. It all really came as a shock as we thought she was just going in for a surgery but with the positioning, age and preexisting issues our baby already had we got the dreaded call. Though this was a horrible day to say the least, we were blessed to be in the care of Dr. Clarke and the rest of the staff at West Coast! I spoke with Dr. Clarke over the phone and he helped me set up a room for our family to come in to say goodbyes. He gave us space and then when the time came he talked us through the whole process to make it as easy as possible. Thank you Dr. Clarke and the entire staff for your loving and caring nature!!!

I cannot recommend West Coast Vet enough! The staff here is incredible and I really appreciate their holistic approach.

They are super busy, so it’s best to schedule exams well in advance. Despite being so busy, they really go above and beyond to squeeze in emergencies. They are the absolute best!

Update: Love this place, but over the past 5 months it's become almost impossible to get responses, receive promised follow up info, Chewy prescription approvals or lab results. Currently averaging 3-4 calls asking for resolution. Had to drop from 5 stars to 3 stars. Hope things improve!

Best vet ever! I tried 4 vets in Palmetto and almost lost my Japanese Chin after she was misdiagnosed multiple times. The ER vet at UTC figured out she had CHF, not a collapsing trachea (which she was diagnosed with TWO years and 6 vets ago) . He sent me to West Coast for long term care and it's absolutely worth the 35 minute drive each time. This group truly cares about pets and Dr. Tara Browning is the best. Their prices are fair and they are conscious about costs, walking that balance of running necessary tests, but not wasting your money. They take their time during visits and now treat all 3 of my furbabies. My dog with CHF is now acting like a puppy again. I can't say enough good things about this group.

Dr. Brown was so amazing ! She took the time to review my cats medical history, analyze diagnosis from other vets and truly listened to me as a pet parent. My cat received acupuncture & laser therapy and I was given so many options to help keep her happy and comfortable as an arthritic senior. After her appointment my cat was playing again and could climb into her cat tree which she had not been able to do in weeks. I’m so grateful and thankful to have found such an amazing vet for my girl. 100% would recommend.

I took one of my dogs clarita castro and she had a pregnancy and she had an unexpected c- section and we took her here to west coast and sadly her puppies passed away but Clarita we could of lost her and they saved her they are wonderful doctors

Although my cat is huge. Bingo is a big scaredy-cat . They are wonderful with him. They love animals and it is reflected in the care.

Unfortunately after 5 yrs it's my understanding they sold out to corporate. The decline of care for the animals and their human customers has been an astonishing change. We have transfered our three pets to a local, family owned clinic. West Coast comes up with ways to charge you extra so ask for detailed quotes and make sure you read your bills before paying and double down on questions before over medicating your pets! They will push unnecessary medication and food (all about $ now) rather than taking the time to resolve the problem causing the pain. Don't let your animal stay over night without asking lots of questions. Overall it seems to be quantity over quality now which is disappointing.
