Honestly EVERYONE there that I interacted with couldn't have been any nicer. The front desk staff were amazing! Nice, helpful, caring, considerate... they were all that and more! The vet that treated my kitty Sully (Dr. Nolan) was so kind! I've never met a nicer vet in all my years of owning pets. She spoke with me prior to Sully's procedure, called me and spoke with me at length when he came out of anesthesia, and brought him out to me when I picked him up and spoke with me some more. I felt so comfortable leaving my sweet kitty there for a surgery and I'm sure that you love your pet as much as I do so with that, I give them 5 stars and more!!!

Dr. Phillip Ryan is an exceptional vet. Was referred to him for an ongoing GI problem with my kitty and he took the time to go through the entirety my cats medical history and just his life in general. All the while taking notes, explaining everything in detail and giving me multiple and insightful options for how to best make a treatment plan. I love my regular vet, and was a little nervous to have to take him to a new vet but he completely surpassed all expectations. You can tell he is a very educated, caring person who not only cares a great deal about his patients but their owners as well! If you take your pets to Dr. Ryan rest assured they are in very good hands!

Dr. Russman is phenomenal. We started seeing her a year ago when my hedgehog, Theodore, fell ill. She has been there through his health journey and goes above and beyond in his care plan. We are so grateful for her!

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Ries, the internal medicine team and ICU staff. They were always kind and accommodating throughout my dog's prolonged illness. They were with us every step, right up to his last ones. I can't thank them enough.

Dr. Schrempp in oncology and her team treated my basset hound Jakey for six years for several cancers. Their loving care extended his life and provided him and us additional years of time together.

TLDR: My dog died because they wouldn't start treatment until I could put thousands of dollars down for a down payment on her care. This was my first visit here so it's not like I had outstanding bills. The corporate greed and price gouging of this office in an emergency situation is disgusting. I brought my dog here because it was the only emergency hospital in town accepting immediate walk ins but if you can take your pet anywhere else I recommend you do so - their life may depend on it.

I brought my dog in in an emergency situation. There was no sense of urgency even though my dog was very sick, and they told me it was a slow night. Finally we get checked in, and are called back to a room. They say they can monitor my dog and do some tests once I sign the paperwork for the cost. It takes a long time to get the cost estimate, and I have some financial concerns, especially because they do not offer payment plans. But my dog is my baby, so I sign some paperwork to get things started. Almost 3 hours later they tell me they don't know what is wrong with my dog, only that she is very sick. They want to admit her to the hospital and start a treatment course that will be SEVERAL THOUSANDS of dollars more than the $2,000 I have already committed. I mention financial concerns and the frankly outrageous price, and they tell me I can leave and try my luck elsewhere, but at this point my dog is so sick that if I take her she will die. But also, they can't start treatment until I put a 50% deposit on the hospital bill. I tell them I am going to need to make some calls and move money around, and they say to let them know when I do so they can start treatment. At this point I am bawling and trying to figure out how I am going to afford this. In the time that I am trying to get money moved, my sweet angel dog's vitals start to tank. Now the conversation turns from "We need thousands to start helping your dog" to "Uh oh, it's too late so now you'll need to pay for euthanasia if you don't want her to suffer." My dog is dead now. And I am furious. We were there for hours waiting for my dog to get help with no sense of urgency or importance, then I am price gouged for several thousand dollars and my dog denied treatment without even the chance of a payment plan, and by the time they realize I can't immediately pay what do you know, it is too late to help her. So now I have an outrageous bill for the two tests that were run and a dead dog. When I said something to the vet, I was told that it is just policy and there wasn't anything she could do.

I took my cat Cesar to get diagnosed to this animal hospital because no one seemed to be certain of what was going on with him. I loved him so much and had been to three veterinarians. They were so rude to me, at VCA they made me feel like I was stupid for letting him get sick and they literally talked down to me for giving him a steroid that was prescribed by the vet. I finally put him down. I left feeling like it was my fault for his condition. Even though I had spent so much money trying to figure out what was wrong with him. They came across very cruel. They charged a lot just to look at my cat and say they were sure it was cancer. They didn’t consider all of the stress I was under. Driving all the way to Albuquerque. I had another cat I dearly loved and they quoted me a price and when I got there the price skyrocketed. The price was only to tell me what the diagnosis was with my cat and no treatment. I would never go back there again. The only reason I went the second time was because an emergency veterinarian hospital said they specialized in cancer and that is what they thought my cat had. The second time I went there it was clear to me that all they were concerned about was the money and didn’t cate about my cat! Another huge disappointment!!! Never again.

We have parrots and finding a vet for birds that was accessible and knowledgeable is very hard in Albuquerque and the surrounding area. We finally found a home at this location with Dr. Russman. She's caring and knowledgeable about birds, and has been helping us treat our little parrot with epilepsy. She calls us to check on him and listens to our concerns. The staff also take us seriously and contact her if we need help. Thank you for taking such good care of our feathered babies.
