Extremely disrespectful treatment from Tom the manager who claims to be an army vet. I find it hard to believe another veteran could treat me with such disrespect, and lack of care or understanding. Every answer to my question was met with an uneducated response. There are plenty of better qualified individuals that could lead to veteran lives being saved. Instead we have Tom telling people to google resources. Do better Portland Vet center.

Wasn't treated even decently when asking for resources as a combat Veteran. I Was told to "Google" other resources when asking how to cope with getting out of the military and being a civilian.

If you want actual help I would stay clear from Tom the manger. Seems to be a very inconsiderate human being. There needs to be some help for younger post 9/11 veterans. It's extremely frustrating that all I can do is right a Google review. Maybe we would have less veterans killing themselves if we could actually get some help. ..

Never use these guys for relationship counseling. They convinced my, now ex fiancé, that I, the veteran, was the problem in our relationship. My ex said that I feel like I always need the last word, and the therapist asked me why I always needed to have the last word. I considered it, but I really didn’t need to have the last word. My ex was obsessed with being right. Even if I did need to get the last word, she did too. It hurts that we couldn’t work it out. But I suppose I am better off.

Again, never use them for relationship counseling. Find another way.

FOUR attempts over the last six months to get an appointment:

1) I asked one simple question and was openly laughed at.
2) I was assigned to a civilian woman who spoke down to me like I was a poor little fragile girl and wouldn't tell me her qualifications.
3) Never heard back.
4) The person who answered the phone REFUSED, three times, to believe I had called the correct place.

I didn't have any trouble getting an appointment at the Vet Center in DC, and that's saying A LOT!

And people wonder why veteran suicide is so high? Because they can't access care.

The person who answers the phones was EXTREMELY rude. All I wanted was help to find certain programs for disabled and low income veterans. The man told me “they aren’t just going to give you free help” in the nastiest attitude and I wasn’t even looking for a handout, just help. I would not go here if you’re looking for help especially if you’re a woman, they will just talk down to you and not even help you or send you to the right place to find help.

UPDATE
Tom claims to be the manager however he is not
Any complaints please call and ask for Trista who is the clinic supervisor

We deserve not to be talk down upon when at our weakest moments, some call for a last hope not to kill themselves and here we get TOMs aggression and up most disrespect

Tom is a Moron, curses st the veterans over the phone stating he can do whatever he wants because he is the manager
Formal complaints are what will get this clown from our systems
It is hard enough to call asking g for help then when your met with narcissistic behavior from those supposed to give the reassurance
I will Tom, gladly be filing a complain with the VA dept

This facility excels where so many others fall painfully short. By giving more than lip service to "supporting the troops", the Portland Vet Center brings a refreshing degree of serious intention, backed by meaningful substance to the phrase "thank you for your service".

This establishment treated my spouse very terribly when trying to find some help. I would not recommend this place if you are a veteran seeking help. The man who answers the phones made my spouse feels so badly about reaching out for help. Do not go here or replace your workers.
